The Y WA is excited to announce the start of construction of four new Early Learning Centres (ELC) across the state, with the aim to open them all within the next 12 months.
Situated in Kalgoorlie, Baldivis, Brabham and Forrestdale, the new architecturally designed, custom-built centres will be state of the art learning environments developed with sensory and creative experiences to encourage every child to reach their full potential.
The Y’s WA CEO Ross Kyrwood explained the not for profit organisation has over 25 years’ experience in operating children’s services.
“We currently operate eleven ELC’s across WA in regional areas, including the Pilbara (where they partner with BHP and Woodside in the resources sector), Great Southern and South West. In order to continue to support the needs of the communities we serve we identified these four locations as hot spots in need of additional early learning centres,” confirmed Ross.
“We have been searching for the right sites for about 18 months and are delighted construction has just started. We’ll be opening up expressions of interest for enrolments from the end of July and will start recruiting in August, subject to building and construction timelines and regulatory approvals, so please check our socials for details” explained the Y WA General Manager of Children’s Services, Shae Welch.
“Each centre will be a beautiful, natural home like environment where we can comfortably support children to have the best start in life and help prepare them for school. The environment will align with our childcare philosophy and the Y’s Approach to Learning, where the focus is on nature and encouraging a curiosity around learning,” Shae continues.
Our ELC staff are dedicated to inspiring and nurturing children to become independent in a real-world environment and we are continuing to expand our service so that families and children across the state have the opportunity to access our wonderful centres.
